Review: October Birchbox

Every month for the past 2 years, I’ve received my Birchbox in the mail and delighted in opening up the colorful boxes to find surprise samples. While some have been hits and some have been misses, I’ve enjoyed each of these Birchbox mail days and have always wanted to post reviews on Striped Flats. So, now that October is over (*tear*), here are my thoughts on the October Birchbox.

imageThis month’s box was focused on positive force, specifically toward cancer awareness and breast cancer research. I am positively obsessed with the pink marblized box (haa, see what I did there).

imageOscar de la Renta Flor Eau de Parfum –> I loveddd this scent. So much so that it might be my next perfume purchase.

imageW3LL PEOPLE Expressionist Mascara –> This month subscribers could pick out a mascara from a few different choices. I decided to go with this mascara because I haven’t owned an all-natural version before. So far, I’ve liked the unique wand and little to no clumping!

imageBorghese Fango Purificante Clay Cleanser –> I loved how this made my skin feel when I was using it. Haven’t seen any immediate effects, but definitely going to continue. Also, it is an easy and quick way to try out the clay beauty trend.

imageToo Cool For School Dinoplatz Highlighter –> Highlighters are a new tool for me, and, that being said, I’m certainly no expert as to how to use them to their full capability. However, I love the color right out of this mini tube, and it provided a nice, subtle gleam.

imageDavines LOVE Smoothing Shampoo & Conditioner –> I’ve been feeling a little bummed/frustrated at all the mini samples of shampoo/conditioner that I receive, just because I feel like I get them in EVERY other box. I haven’t tried this combo out yet (I usually save these samples for traveling), but I was intrigued by the “smoothing” factor and actually look forward to see if these have any good results!
