A Colorblock Challenge

DSC_0275.JPG

This look was part of the #StyleMeAugust challenge this past week, and it definitely posed a challenge to dress myself that morning. If you’ve been reading my posts even for a little while, you’ll see that my favorite clothing color is black. A huge majority of all of my accessories and basics are in black; it is a color I feel that I can pull off 100% of the time. It doesn’t clash with my red hair, and, if I do wear one pop of color, the rest of my outfit is typically neutral. It makes me feel balanced.

So, I chose pieces within the same color family of blues & greens to create this colorblocked outfit, which I was thisss close to taking off and to giving up Thursday’s challenge. But, I stuck with it, and liked how it turned out overall. :) Anyone else have any issues with certain trends like this that push your comfort zones?
